For my final major project I chose a tropical themed collection, taking my inspiration from Julien Macdonald's Spring/Summer 2006 collection.
The collection consists of; a tropical flower printed drerss, a bright pink kaftan and an emerald green bikini. The kaftan and bikini both have leopard print trimming to link the two pieces and bring in an ethnical feel.
The bikini with its large detachable palm tree necklace is versatile as both a catwalk piece and a wearable bikini on the beach. The kaftan, a perfect beach cover up as it's not too see-through and looks glamorous. While the printed dress can be dressed up or down, perfect for going straight from the beach to drinking cocktails.
I wanted my collection to make a bold statement on the catwalk and clearly show tropical links,which I feel I have achieved.
